Images will not upload!

    Hello all

    I am very new here so hope you can help. For the past couple of months my WordPress has not allowed me to upload images (in this time I have only uploaded one image!).

    Most of the time when I try to upload/insert an image from the gallery (usually medium size) it takes a while for anything to happen, then a new box opens with ALL of my blog posts… The image never uploads and so I have to start again.

    I am not sure if this makes sense but I don’t know what I can do.

    I have tried updating the wordpress and trying different file formats (usually jpg though).

    That is kinda weird. My first though is ‘plugin/theme conflict’. If you disable all of your plugins and switch to the default theme, does the image upload work?

    Thanks for your response apljdi. Unfortunately diabling all plugins and switching to default did not work but it did bring up this message

    That is an error in a plugin though. Look at the path. I’m not sure why it is loading if the plugins are disabled. That really shouldn’t happen. Try renaming the plugin— just append .bak or something to the sitemap-generator plugin’s folder.

    Ah that worked this time! Sorry I must have done something else before.
    I am very very very unknowledgable about wordpress and codes etc… Do I need to reactivate the plugins or can I just leave it deactivated?

    Ok. Now it is time to get your site back working the way you want. Just enable things one by one and make sure you can still upload images each time. So, enable your chosen theme, and check the image problem. Then enable a single plugin and check the image problem. And so on. When you get to the sitemap-generator plugin you will need to rename the folder back to its original name, but enabling it might cause the problem to recur. While you are at it, make sure you have up to date versionso the plugins and make sure the plugin is compatible with your WordPress version.
