• When I am uploading media to my posts (and even from the media page itself), my images are uploading UNEDITED. Meaning that I edit them in Adobe Photoshop by adjusting colors, white balance, sharpness, etc. — felt I should explain that, since when trouble shooting with my host, they kept using “edited” in quotes and uploading pictures from Microsoft Paint to try and replicate the issue–unsuccessfully.
My images are uploading everywhere else as they were saved in Photoshop, but on WordPress they are uploading as if I took them directly from my camera and did no post editing.
Needless to say it’s been frustrating…I have tried changing their extension, compressing them, changing te file name, etc.
I seem to be the only person ever to have this problem, as Google has gotten me nowhere.
Has ANYONE had this problem or have any Idea how I could fix it?

  • Hi @brandia,

    Hope you are doing well.

I must admit you got a weird issue there.

WordPress doesn’t have the ability to unedit an edited image. So, there should be a confusion with how you are saving the edited files in photoshop.
I suspect you are exporting the edited file but keeping the original untouched, and then you are uploading the original to your WP site.

I assume you are exporting a jpg or png image. Please double check the location where it is being saved and the location where you are uploading from.

Keep me posted and I’ll try to provide further support until we get to the bottom.

    Cheers

It’s definitely a weird issue! I have been editing and saving my images the same way since I began my blog, and the issue has only recently started with my last few posts.
I don’t keep original untouched images, I transfer them from my camera to photoshop through adobe bridge and save them. Removing the originals afterwards, so I am indeed uploading the correct and edited image. I’m not quite sure how it’s happening, but it’s definitely happening.

Would it be possible for you to share an edited image so that I can try on my end and also to check if there is something unusual on the format you are using?

This is what I’m uploading, http://i63.tinypic.com/20sd749.jpg (uploaded to tinypic)
This is what is uploading to WP:

And actually now that I’m looking at it via the direct link it’s looking edited, here’s a screenshot of what is actually showing up in posts and in my media files of WP

I didn’t see you last message and I spent some minutes trying to spot the difference between the two images 😀
    I’m not crazy, that’s good.

So, if the problem is with the resized images used across the site, then this starts to make sense.
I believe this will help you to solve the issue:

Please keep me posted. Take care!

    Beautiful site btw!

    Hi @brandia,

    Hope you are doing well.

I’m wondering if you were able to solve the issue.
Was the link that I sent you of any help?

Yes! I believe that it has fixed the issue. Re-saving the images has taken some time! Thank you so much for your help.
