Images linked in my emails stopped showing a couple of days ago. No changes have been made other than recent updates. Was there a change in how these are linked?

Images in my post notification daily emails are now showing as a
? in a box
on all Apple devices (i.e. mac, iphone, etc.).

It seems to be a problem with Mac Mail on MacOS and iOS. The problem started 2 days ago. No changes in settings prior.
