    Howdy forum!

I’m having trouble to get the images to be visible on [ redundant link removed ]. This includes the header image (logotype) under Site Identity, as well as background image in the Big Title Section (Hestia theme).

I want to use the Hestia theme, but as I describe below, the header image problem persists in most themes I have tried.

    General troubleshooting methology
I have been troubleshooting by inactivating all plug-ins and by trying different themes. I have tried upwards of 10-15 themes (who support a header image), and the only theme that shows the header image is “Twenty Fifteen”. I currently have no plug-ins activated and have decided to want to use the “Hestia” theme, in which the logo does not work. Additionally, the background image to the “Big Title Section” in the Hestia theme is not working.

I can see the header image if I surf into the image location (image). Another strange observation is that I was trying to solve this problem yesterday, and then in the morning today the header image was showing. Then when I tried to change the header image again, the problem re-emerged (i.e. the header image once again became invisible)

    Clearing cache
I’m using Firefox on Ubuntu where I’ve cleared my browser cache, as well as the cache on the WordPress admin area (I think I’ve done so correctly).

    Static front page
I have read on forums that it might be a problem of a static front page, whereby I have put the front page as static. I have also checked whether the template to the “front page” has to be put to “Homepage” or similar, which does not seem to be the case in the Hestia theme, but I have done so in the experimented themes which have required me to do so. Needless to say this has not solved the problem.

  • Hello @thetoblin

I think there is something preventing from folder/directory permission or from .Htaccess File, all folders have 0755 and files have 0644 permission

Especially check the Upload Folders, as when you check your console it gives an error.

    Thanks.

No one is on WordPress.org since it does not host anyone’s blogs.

It looks like you have some sort of hotlinking or security protection blocking that on your site.

This is a link your site is referencing.

    https://www.3d-guild.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/cropped-jellyFish_oval_logotype_transparent-1.png

But when I load it I get a 403 not authorized. You need to relax that setting so that it can load. This may be something your host can assist you with.

    Thanks for the replies!

I called my host, and after some investigation he figured out that it was a hotlink protection bug. The hotlink protection was not configured for SSL, and I was apparently so far the only client who had implemented SSL and the hotlink protection simultaneously, believe it or not.

He also helped me to get SSL working correctly on my site, so that was a nice bonus.

Thanks for the guidance! You saved me a lot of time!

    /Tobias
