It was recently brought tomy attention that my blog is not showing any of the images. This includes any of the images for the theme, etc … all I get are compressed place holders and if you hover over them it shows the full (and correct) path to the relevant image. If you then click that image it re-directs you to google!!!!

If I then right click and copy/paste the link, then it shows the image.

Thinking that WP had become corrupted somehow I took the opportunity to upgrade it to the latest version but still no joy. Also if I use the admin tool I can’t see any previews of any themes that are there.

The theme and its images were uploaded via FTP and have been working, certainly until about a week or so back. The images within the posts are uploaded using the media library built in.

I’ve searched the forums as best I can and the only results I can find don’t seem to be relevant or have any effect on my problem. Finally I have deactivated all plugins just in case one of them was the problem. The home page is the best example and can be seen at dyckhoff.co.uk

I have even gone back to an old backup and that still has the problem showing up. It’s possible there is a domain issue but I have three other blogs running via here and they are not exhibiting the same issues.

Any suggestions as to what to do next please?

  • I don’t know if it’s the cause of your images problem, but you’ve been hacked (poker links added with bad coding).

    Can you tell me more?

I’m not seeing what you are.

    This looks suspicious:

    <style type="text/css">.metalink { width: 0.2em; height: 0.4em; overflow: hidden; list-style: none; margin-bottom: -30px;}</style> <ul><li class="metalink"><a href="http://www.pokerando.com" hreflang="it"><b>giochi casino</b></a></li><li class="metalink"><a href="http://www.dascasino.net" hreflang="de"><em>poker games</em></a></li></ul>

You also have a Byte-Order Mark (BOM).

OK – can see the link now.

Suggestions as to how to fix this please? Obviously I need to replace stuff, but which bits, what order, or am I making this more complicated than I should?

I’m not a hacking expert, but try a forum search for hacked. As for the BOM, see this:

OK – the poker hack appears to be gone, but that doesn’t explain the backend not displaying properly!

Oh, and I can’t see any other activity that would indicate my security has been breached apart from teh code in the front page.

I’d recommend a fresh reinstall of WordPress and your theme and all passwords changed. Files may have been corrupted/compromised by the hack, and there may also be nasty files hiding somewhere on your site. Bad users and junk can also be added to your database.

    Sorted now ….

My htaccess file had the following in it …

    RewriteRule .*\.(jpg|jpeg|gif|png|bmp)$ http://www.google.co.uk [R,NC]

In my home page the link for security code appears to be broken. All the time that a visitor wants to send me a contact and write the security code and submit, shows “Invalid Security Code”
    PLEASE HELP

I am also facing same problem.
    “Invalid Security Code”
    please can any body help?
