If something goes wrong, will I be able to log back into the Wp-admin dashboard to revert the changes?
Not until the move has been completed.
Okay. Filezilla says that “not all servers support the ‘show hidden files’ feature and may return incorrect listings if the option is enabled.” I was just wondering how I go about checking if this is the case for me, because I do not see my .htaccess file with all the other files when I have ‘show hidden files’ enabled.
Is this actually a WordPress site?
Yes. Could the problem be that I am using Yahoo? I’ve read forums that say they do not support .htaccess, but that seems absurd to me and a little outdated. Is this still the case?
You would have to ask them about this but I have to say that the site at the url you posted above definitely does not look like a WordPress site.
I re-uploaded the companys old website online while I’m still having issues. I’m currently on hold with yahoo to find out whether or not they support .htaccess.
The person I talked to said they hardly support WordPress let alone .htaccess. The obvious solution here I guess is to just not use yahoo for any sort of web hosting pertaining to wordpress. Any recommendations as to the best web hosting companies out there right now in terms of wordpress compatibility?
Although we do not personally endorse them, there are some hosts listed here. Also searching the forums using the keywords “host” or “hosting” may provide you with some suggestions. However, due to the amount of spam that these topics attract, I’m afraid I will have to close this one.
