• I have been searching for hours on these forums and on Google. I have a site: http:derbycitynews.com/blogs and I have two major issues.

    1. Everytime I try and upload a pic it will not show up. I keep getting a box with a broken image.

    2. Others cannot register for the site. Whenever someone clicks register and fills out their info, they never receive an email. They can’t retrieve a lost password either.

Did I install WP wrong? I have a cloud computer I use and my host set up an IP address for WP specifically. However I already a site: derbycitynews.com so I copied all the files from that one IP and placed them in my existing IP under the folder blogs.

    I’m lost.

  • You mention moving the files but what about the database? And also the directory changed from / to /blogs so did you correct that aftethe move?

Well I thought I did everything right because the site itself works. It wasn’t until I tried to do those two things that it didn’t work. Where do I change those things?

    1. Check your uploads path in settings/Media.

    2. Review this Codex page

    Did you check Settings/General???
Also make sure everything is correct in wp-config.php
Lastly you might want to look at your database in PhpMyadmin and make sure where anyh paths or URL’s are listed they are correct.

I checked settings/general and I had already changed it to http://derbycitynews.com/blogs

I don’t know what phpmyadmin is.

I looked at the codex page. Still reading the posts. Will update soon.

I contacted my web host and he is looking into it. I really wish I knew more about WP. Thank you both for your help!

You did not mention who your hosting comp. is. But you should have a Control panel (cPanel or Plesk are common) and in there should be a choce for PhpMyadmin. It lets you view and edit the database directly for WOrdpress. If you google the you can find directions on how to use.
