I even have posts being tweeted to twitter even though they are ‘unchecked’?

Despite many, many requested to fix this over a year already, still does not post images to twitter – it now post a twitter card instead?
Please could you help me fix this?

It worked perfectly fine up to a few versions ago but now, it does not post images in the post to twitter?
So to explain some more…
I have a page, added a url to pull in the image from another site which shows fine.
When I try to post the page to twitter, the text show but no the image.
So what could be the problem please?

Are you getting any errors? Please check your Log/History tab and let me know what do you have there.

1. Some networks (Twitter, Tumblr, ….) require the URL of the image. The special bot from the network will visit your site and grab the image itself. You need to have the image available for download, valid, non-broken, and not protected for that to work.
The fact that image is showing on your site does not mean that Twitter is able to grab it too.

Could it be that Wordfence is blocking the twitterbot preventing it from getting the posts image url then?
What does the twitter bot link look like so I can check its not blocked?

Yes, some “Security” plugins can block requests that they consider suspicious. Twitter Bot comes without any info in the “Referrer” and “User-Agent” headers.
