Image/Media Uploader problems

I am uploading a a zip file and or a mulitple pictures on the file side. the upload starts but then it stops and comes back with 54 % done ans sticks. when I look in the manage gallery there is no picutres listed. I log into godaddy.com and look in the server and the pictures are there in the folder created.. PLease help me understand why the upload but not responding back to wordpress with the picutres so I can post the pictures..
