Hi @mikezza
What do you have set for the height and width of the slideshow? Can you make sure those are set properly then press save?
Hi @kbat82 It’s now 500 width and 0 height, but also tried 2x 1200 pixels
Hi,
Why are you using these settings? What’s the intended width and height of the slideshow?
100% of the width and height must be adjusted.
Set it to the pixel version of whatever the typical 100% width is, then use the height of the image at that position. These settings are for cropping and the slideshow will figure out the rest.
Or you can disable cropping under advanced settings, but then you will have to ensure the images are cropped accordingly.
What do you mean with this?
My pictures are (mostly) 4032 x 3024 and the width of the site is not sure, it depends (of course) on resolution of the user.
Your site is in a container with a fixed width of about 1200px, and the images are in another container that looks to be around 600px. The maximum width of the slideshow will never exceed 600px, right?
If yes, then that should be the width you use for the width setting. Then use some basic math to figure out the height by the aspect ratio of the image. 4032 x 3024 = 600 x ?
You can also disable the cropping.
Yes, with 600×450 it works. I still don’t get the clue about why I can’t let it be empty, but it’s good now. Thank you!
Hi @mikezza
They are used to crop the images to the desired width and height (unless you disable cropping under Advanced Settings). WordPress can’t properly crop an image with a height of 0 so it will fail.
I’ll mark this resolved but feel free to comment or open a new issue as needed.
