    Hi,

I’ve connected ChatGPT to my WordPress site using the plugin, and the connection seems to work fine.

However, when I’m using ChatGPT in developer mode, it doesn’t allow me to create images there and then upload them to WordPress through the plugin.

Is image generation supposed to work from developer mode, or is this a current limitation of ChatGPT?

    Thanks.

    Hi,

Thanks for reaching out — glad to hear the connection is working 👍

At the moment, this is a limitation of ChatGPT rather than the plugin. When using ChatGPT in developer mode, image generation (and especially direct upload workflows) isn’t always available or exposed in the same way as in the standard interface.

So even though the plugin supports handling images, ChatGPT developer mode may not currently allow you to generate and pass those images through to WordPress.

As a workaround, you can generate the image outside of developer mode (e.g. in the normal ChatGPT interface or another tool) and then upload it to WordPress.

If OpenAI expands image support in developer mode in the future, this should work more seamlessly.

Another option is to use the image generation tool included in the WordPress MCP plugin itself. In that case, you would need to configure your own AI provider API key, and image generation would consume tokens/credits from that provider.

So for now, the limitation is mainly on the ChatGPT developer mode side, while the plugin-side image generation can work independently if configured.

    Hope that helps!
