    The beta didn’t resolve the issue. The only real difference I saw with the beta was that it launched in a popup window instead of opening a new tab, which is nice by the way. I tried it in Chrome 31.0.1650.63 and IE 11.

    in the options box does hitting the “horizontal/vertical” toggle button change anything? If you open the javascript console (ctrl-shift-j) are there any errors? (Also, try enabling debugging in the PTE settings panel)

    No I figured it out. It was conflicting with another plug-in, “My Google Books Library,”

    The instant I deactivate that other plug-in and refresh in Post Thumbnail Edtor, the image in the crop area shows up.

    Thanks for your help though, I appreciate it.

    Thanks for the update, glad that it’s working! I’ll see if I can fix that conflict.

    Hi there, I’m having that exact same problem – the image crop isn’t showing up at all. I have all plugins disabled except this. I was on WP 3.7.2 and it didn’t work; upgraded to 3.8 and it’s still not working. I’m on Windows 7, Firefox 26.0, WP 3.8, locally on an XAMPP lite stack, no permissions issues that I could find.

    Here’s a view of what I see when I access the plugin from either the “thumbnail” link or the Post Thumbnail Editor button:

    Any idea on how to fix this?

    Jamie, what version of PTE are you using? Try enabling debugging in settings → post thumbnail editor and then trying again.

    Hi there,
    First of all thank you for taking the time to look into this. I know it can probably be frustrating and time consuming to try to figure out what’s going on. So thanks for that 🙂 I’m experiencing a similar problem. When I try to crop a picture for the first time it will work just fine. If I have to go back and fix another option (ie. slider) then the picture is no longer there. I tried enabling the debug option under the settings and clearing the cache but it doesn’t seem to have done anything. Before upgrading the plugin it was perfect. Any chance I can revert back to the previous version? WP 3.8 Firefox 26.0

    sewpafly, I am using v 2.3.0. I tried that; now I am thinking it might be an issue with my GD Library. I’m going to dig in further and let you know if that is the case. Thanks!

    @sonnetxv – you can always find the old versions here: http://wordpress.org/plugins/post-thumbnail-editor/developers/. (I think you should have access to that)(or there’s always github)

    If you have debug enabled, do you see anything in your javascript (ctrl-shift-j) console?

    @jamie, thanks for updating!

    @swepafly I think it’s working now…crossing fingers. Thanks for your help!
