image display issue in footer

hey guys,

i’ve been searching but can’t find something similar in these forums…

I’ve got a header and footer with image rollovers. the images for the rollovers are in folder called /header_images/ that is within my main them folder. the paths to the images were relative but i couldn’t get them to work unless i put a “/” in front of the images. this was odd because outside of wordpress this relative path would work without a “/” in front.

I did set up permalinks though. in the custom option i’ve got “/” which i’m assuming has something to do with the above.

but the issue comes with the footer… exactly the same relative paths to the images but none of them will display! not with “/” in front of them either… doh!

they WILL display if i use absolute paths to the images but i don’t want to have to do this in case i opt to change the file structure of my site. AND the header is working wih relative images…!!
