Hello @lisa-geerts,
The optimization is working correctly with WordPress 6.0, and the images on your site should be optimized.
You can check the compression of the image by accessing it from the Media Library.
If you are encountering a problem during the regeneration of the images, please provide us with more information about what you are encountering on your end and for which domain so that we can check it further.

Hi Pavel,
Thank you for your reply.
Today I have uploaded a new image. The image size is 113 kb. Normally it would compress the image to about 30 kb or something. But this doesn’t happen. I have checked the media library, it is 113 kb there as well.
These are my settings in SG optimizer:
Image Compression ENABLED
Image compression level is Low (25%)
Original images backups are Disabled

Hello Lisa,
May I ask you to provide us with the domain name of the affected website? In case it is hosted with SiteGround you are also welcome to open a support request from your Client Area so we can check the issue in more detail.
Best regards,

Hi Dimo,
Both my sites: free-crochet-patterns.com and haakinformatie.nl

Hello Lisa,
Please note that some images require more compression in order to decrease their size. I made some tests on your “haakinformatie.nl” application by using a sample image and it is properly compressed using “medium” and “high” level compression.
You can also preview such changes using the “preview” button in the plugin’s settings:
