    Am I missing something or do image captions seem to be completely f****d? WordPress is the most popular “content management system” so why is it so daft regarding captions? You can enter an image’s caption information in the media manager but it doesn’t always pull that value when you try to display an image with caption in content. Why do you sometimes have to manually retype caption info when you insert an image?

    Beyond that, why is it that nobody on the dev team ever thought that a featured image might need to be credited? How exactly are you supposed to incorporate a caption for the featured image in a block template? Why is this one of the hundreds of wordpress annoyances that never get fixed???

    Hi @medesigngood,

    The way image captions work can vary depending on how the image was added to the post or a page. Image captions stored in the Media Library will not automatically sync to the image block. In some cases, the theme or the plugins may also affect how the captions are displayed. Which theme are you currently using?

    Please try the following and let us know it helps or not.

    • Select the Image block in the editor, then check the sidebar to add the Caption. Most likely, you will be able to edit your existing caption added via the Media Library.
    • Open the Image in the Media Library, update the caption there, then reinsert the image into the post/page. Save the changes and check whether the caption is showing as expected for the image or not.
