Support » Plugin: ScrapeAZon » iFrame Width

  • Great plug-in, thank you! I am trying to add the reviews for some products on the manufacturer site that I am working on. While the “disclosure” spans the width I would like on the product page, the actual review does not and is constrained. I have tried using the width tag in the shortcode, but it did not work either. Any insight would be great. Thanks again!

    Hello, @bmelt.

Thanks for using ScrapeAZon. You might try setting the width to 100% (include the % symbol). Alternatively, you can enable the responsive setting on the ScrapeAZon settings page, which will automatically configure the iframe to 100% of its container element.

If you make changes, make sure you clear the ScrapeAZon cache or object cache if you’re using a caching plugin.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance!

Thank you for the reply! I tried adding the width tag and ensured that the responsive setting was enabled. I then cleared the cache for ScrapeAzon and the site cache as well. The issue remains. The disclosure goes full width, but the review seems to be constrained to the second column cell only. So strange.

    Hi, bmelt:

Looking at the source of your page, it looks like the shortcode is being executed inside a table and that you’re trying to get the iframe to span table cells. I don’t know if iframes are actually capable of spanning table cells. I’ve never tried that before.

Is there a way you can modify the content so that the review falls outside the table? If not, you might try to determine if there’s a way to force an iframe to span table cells.

Thanks and let me know if I can be of further assistance!

So strange. I put a test set on that same page below the table structure and now the iFrame within the table spans the columns. When I remove that second set of reviews, it reverts back to being constrained in the second column. Take a look as I left the second review set out there now.

That is interesting, but I’m glad you can get it to display correctly! I wonder if there’s a missing open or close tag in the nest of table cells somewhere that’s causing the original issue.

Thanks and let me know if I can help.

    James
