    Hi guys,
Been using Lead In for a wile now, testing it to see if I can use it for clients websites.
I love it, but I found just some little problems that could be improved.

I found a little problem with your integration of MailChimp with Leadin.

I am not sure how the rest of the email platforms work, but in MailChimp each list is completely independent, so if I set a tag to sync to a specific list, and I tag someone with 2 tags they get synced in 2 separate list.
Sounds great, but the problems is that MailChimp treats those contacts as different contacts. So I have a lot of duplicate contacts which impacts on billing 🙂
Also, if a contact unsubscribes from one of the emails sent to that list, they only get deleted from that list, not all the lists they are in.

The solution would be to use MailChimp Groups inside a List to sync the tags, instead of separate Lists.

Thanks for this great plugin! And I hope this makes sense and you integrate it to a future update!

  • tl;dr – I agree with your points and I’ve added MailChimp groups support to our backlog of features to explore.

I’m posting the response I sent you via our support desk so other’s can view it here:

    Hi Manuel –

So the reason we’re not using MailChimp Groups right now is that none of the other email services are set up this way and we honestly just didn’t know how MailChimp handled groups when we first built the integrations. It is a good point though and I’ll look into figuring out a way we can fix it while still supporting the other email service providers that our customers are using already. You’re actually not the first person to request MailChimp Groups integration and I’m sure you won’t be the last, so I give you my word I’ll look into figuring out how we can make this work the next day I get some free time to dig into the code. I’ll circle back with you as I make progress on figuring it out and will keep you posted.

    Thanks!
