Hi awkmo,
The only change I made recently was adding in the verify metadata for Bing and Google.
Did you do that via a plugin? If so, can you try disabling that plugin to see if it resolves the issue for you? If it does, then you may want to contact the plugin developer directly.
Hi again – I just noticed that the search box and social media icons (in the top right corner of the page) do load for me … they just take a few extra seconds to load.

Thanks Liam. I still can’t see it unfortunately. I didn’t do it through a plugin, just inserted the metadata myself. I’ve tried deleting it but no result.
Hi awkmo,
I am guessing that since it loads for me that it’s likely to be a local cache issue for you. I know you said that you dumped cache, used other browsers, etc., but have you tried visiting the site on your phone with wifi turned off? I find that is sometimes a good way to check sites that are cached for my work computer.

Thanks Liam, still can’t replicate it, but thank you for letting me know. Just to confirm, can I ask, do you see the icons where the boxes are in the below?

Yep, sure do. Please see the following screenshot, captured in Chrome, in the US near Philadelphia.

Hi Liam and co,
A day later and I’ve even tried removing the links and putting them back. No matter what I do i still can’t see the icons (including the search icons) them, not on my phone, my partners phone, incognito, after a cache dump or anything.
It seems strange that it would disappear to begin with, and even using geopeeker to see what it looks like around the world it’s still showing those blank boxes where the icons are.
Are there any other recommendations to fix the icons on the homepage?
Hi awkmo,
I wish I had a better answer. It’s odd that I can see it, but that it won’t load for you.
(1) Have you tried visiting your site when you’re on a different wifi network? Could the old pages be cached in your local router?
(2) Have you tried looking at the source code of the live site, finding the URL of the social media icons and then navigating directly to that image in a separate tab in your browser? That might help at least confirm that the images will load on your machine.
