Icon Menu Descriptions

Thanks for the great support earlier; this theme is the bomb. I’m having a new problem: in the icon menu on the front page, I cannot for the life of me get the description font to be black. At first I thought it wasn’t showing up at all, but I realize now that it’s just white. I’ve got this css in there, and I can’t figure out what could be turning it white, since there’s no other css declaring a font to be white:

background: transparent;
padding-bottom: 10px;
font-color:black !important;
}

.home-iconmenu.homeitemcount1 a {
font-color:black !important;
}

I have tried every variation of .home-iconmenu and .homeiconmenu.homeitemcount1 with p and a and have had no luck. HELP!!
