I get nothing..

    Ive tried adding this code to a child header.php file and i get nothing at all. not even an error.

    ive tried both of these methods:

    <?php if(function_exists('ditty_news_ticker')){ditty_news_ticker(317);} ?>

<?php echo do_shortcode('[ditty_news_ticker id="317"]'); ?>

    Ive put some other shortcodes in that same space to test and they are working. I have ALL plugins turned off except this. Ideas?

    Are you using a child theme to add your custom code? If so, check to make sure that you have it activated. I’m only seeing the Divi theme stylesheet being added to your site? If you are not using a child theme, you should create one and use that to make your customizations as any updates to the Divi theme will overwrite your custom code.

    i am using a child theme but somehow the header.php wasnt loading. i deleted and created a new one and now it is working. Ive tried a few different settings but not having much constraining the display to the right half of the div. i will play around with some margin settings and let you know how it turns out. thanks for pointing out the problem with the child theme.

    Alright, cool. Can you create a quick mockup of the placement and boundaries you want for the ticker? I’ll take a look and see if I can provide you with any tips.

    Add the following custom css. This is only for desktop. You’ll have to use media queries and adjust the display for mobile.
