I can't change the CSS

I want to change the text to be smaller and thinner, delete the hyphen before the author and align all the text in center. I went to the plug-in Edit, and changed the CSS source of the quotes-collection, but it wouldn’t let me do anything I listed above even though I updated all the codes. What I should do? Please help me out.
