I can not open my wp-admin/install.php any pointers please???

    I need some help please…

    I successfully loaded my wp-config-sample.php to in notebook. Saved it as told. Then when I tried to uploead wp-admin/install.php to my browser it is asking me to find which program. It states that windows could not find this file then it gives me the option to have windows find it online or to select a program from the list of programs.

    Can anyone help me install this please? I am using a TouchSmart HP with Windows Vista. I dont know if Windows Vista has anything to do with it.

    I think we have a little issue here with terminology because you can’t upload anything to your browser. Sounds to me like you’re trying to open the php file in your browser? You can’t do that. I take it you’re trying to install locally? To install WP locally you need to have something like Xampp installed first. Here’s a link to instructions for doing so.

    Don’t mind the part about it being Windows XP. I have Vista and it worked fine.
