Support » Plugin: WooCommerce PayPal Checkout Payment Gateway » I can deactivate the plugin

  • Hello,

I have installed this plugin and the Stripe Gateway one. I am trying to deactivate them, and it is ok, but when I refresh, the plugin is already activated. If I am trying to remove the plugin, it gives me a messages that says “No puedes borrar un plugin si está activado para el sitio principal”. In english, “You cannot remove the plugin if it is activated for the main site”. I dont understand this.

I can remove then manually but I would like to know if there is some problem.

    Hi There,

Are you using this on a multisite? Please also open a ticket with our support team via http://www.WooCommerce.com ( Go to Support > Helpdesk > Create a ticket > Free Plugins ), so that we can investigate this further. [redacted]
    Thanks

I have created the ticket as you indicate me.

It is very weird. I tried to remove them manually (by FTP) and when I refresh, both folders appear again!!!

No, the functions.php does not affect. It has got only some snippets to include the identity card in the billing page (I tested removing the functions.php and the behaviour was the same).

I continue searching. Please @liomar, tell here if some advance.

Do you have the Point of Sale plugin?

It’s easiest to help you if we can do that from one point – in this case, preferably the ticket. What is the number of the ticket that you created?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

    Thanks!

I see you received a response from us on 23 December – can you please check your spam folder? If you can’t find it, the best way to respond is to log into woocommerce.com and see our response there.

    Hi,

Yes, I sew the response, but :

    • The response doesn’t give a solution to the issue: plugin is still here and I still don’t know what append
    • I hope help someone else with the same issue by posting here in public mode, as it seems that I’m not alone to encounter this strange behavior

Anyway, don’t worry, I’m following the ticket and I’m well notified of the responses gave by your gentle team.

    Hi all,

I finally succeeded to remove the plugin, by exploring deeper the forum.

@fernashes why didn’t you tell us that the solution was in this thread, in which you took part??
    https://wordpress.org/support/topic/can-not-delete-plugin-2/#post-8393504

The solution concerns the Braintree module, but cause is the same and it works in my case with the WooCommerce PayPal Express Checkout Payment Gateway extension.

Please solve this WooCommerce bug, like suggested by @chatmandesign : https://wordpress.org/support/topic/can-not-delete-plugin-2/#post-8543670

Thanks for that link! I hadn’t seen the end of the thread.

I’ll check in with our developers and see what the status is of the fix. When I know more, I’ll update here.

We’ve added a safeguard in WooCommerce core, which will be included in WooCommerce 2.7:
    https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce/commit/dcb5211adfbb75481da9b1938c4871382d27e51b

Once that lands, you’ll be able to test the fix. We’re currently testing 2.7 beta 1.

In the mean time, the best fix is to clear the cron jobs as described by @chatmandesign:
    https://wordpress.org/support/topic/can-not-delete-plugin-2/#post-8393504

    Hello @fernashes and everyone,

You said it will be fixed in 2.7. I have checked in my computer with 3.0.5. and the problem remains.

    Is it not fixed?

@ferchup Are you still unable to deactivate PayPal Powered By Braintree? If so, are you using version 2.x or later of PayPal Powered By Braintree?

I am unable to deactivate, as I told in the beginning of this topic, the WooCommerce PayPal Express Checkout Gateway and the WooCommerce Stripe Gateway.
I dont have installed “Paypal Powered By Braintree”, but the problem that tells https://wordpress.org/support/topic/can-not-delete-plugin-2/ is the same problem than mine, with the two plugins mentioned.
