• Where there was once a paid, custom themed portfolio site, now sits a text-only page with all the the site’s content; looking like it’s 1989…

Here’s what happened: While in my custom site’s dashboard, on the General Settings tab/page, I changed the URL in the first box, from “…jessecoleman2k.wordpress.com” to “…jessecoleman2k.com” – the page took me back to the login page and I now i cant even access my free blog site.

I was so close to getting my blog to be a part of my portfolio site… but I finally did it- I blew it all up… damn me– Damn Me all to Hell!

But really, please, can someone help? I’d hire a pro if I wasn’t going out of the country this weekend. Please, please tell me it’s an easy fix, like going onto my ftp server and editing a text doc, or asking my ISP to reset something. I do have a folder on my ISP server with a backup from march 2014, of the entire “wp” folder… maybe I can retrieve something from there?

    Note*

I do have a free “jessecoleman2k.wordpress.com account as well- I think I may have merged them?

There was no warning, just a page refresh to the log in page.

    Hey there,

If I’m looking at your situation correctly, I think you might have done the reverse of what you mentioned. I think you changed your url on jessecoleman2k.com to .jessecoleman2k.wordpress.com – but I could be wrong

To help me understand further, who is your web host? Do you have access to a control panel with them or PHPmyAdmin?

Umm- that’s greek to me- but I do have FTP access to my wp folder on my ISP’s server (MacOS 10.7.5, Transmit)

    and the webhost is Pair.com

    Hey there,

This might need to be fixed by using the control panel that pair gives you (it appears they do).

Try contacting them to let them know what has happened and that you need to get your home url and site url changed in the wp_options table.

Tell them the URL should be http://jessecoleman2k.com

Thank you! I will call them first thing in the morning!
