I am trying to create a hyperlink on one of my posts. When I create it, and try it on my live site, the hyperlink leads to an error. When I checked my url (after clicking on the hyperlink), I see the problem, it is giving me my website url + link url. So it is bringing the hyperlink back to my website, and then going nowhere after that, which is what causes the error.

When I put in the url of my destination site, my own site url does not show up in the link insertion pop-up screen, so I am not certain why my site url keeps on showing up.

Hopefully that makes sense. If anyone has an answer for this, that would be great.

    Thanks,

    Gary

  • do you start your hyperlink with ‘http://’ ?

    Actually, I have tried both.

I first started the hyperlink “without” the http://, and then when that didn’t work, I started it “with” the http://.

When it started with the http://, the hyperlink was not recognized on the live site.

When I started it without the http://, then the hyperlink started with my domain url, and subsequently returned an error message.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks,

I believe I have resolved this, by simply modifying the link I was given. I was provided with a link code that was behaving very strangely, and have modified the code.

    Thanks for your input.
