    Hi there

First off love the plugin! one of the best ones out there.

More of a development question really. tinymce-advanced offers you a way in the settings to click ‘link’ which replaces the default WP hyperlink popup with one which includes the ability to edit the link text from within the popup.

    e.g. say i have a link:
click here for something in this dialogue you can use it to edit the ‘click here for something’ part (Text to display). You can do this in the editor ofc but for a client it is very poor in wordpress and tinymce by default you backspace and the link is unlinked etc, the popup tinymce advance adds is great!

the problem ofc is that we’d like to keep wordpress’s nice ability to select a page within the site to link to! so cannot enable this option.

Does anyone know if it is possible to add a hook or some code into the theme to enable this ‘text to display’ option within the normal WP dialogue? Been googling frantically and as you can imagine the search term ‘wordpress hyper link change text’ etc brings up loads of tips for newbies etc.

I realize this might not directly relate to the plugin but if anyone knows about this functionality it’ll be you! I’v written hook code to add buttons to the editor that sit ontop of tinymce advanced so i’m fairly competent techincally

Guess no one has any ideas on this? :(. It’s weird as I’m wondering why this does not come up more often with WordPress its a big issue re editing link text.

Editing the link “text” was added to the wpLink dialog in WP 4.2.
