Hummingbird breaks script loading over HTTPS
-
Hi there,
I moved recently from W3TC or Autoptimize to Hummingbird, which I really like because it’s the only one which doesn’t create issues in script loading allowing for fine grain per-script setup.
Very cool.
Unfortunately, after few hours I setup HB, some scripts go wild and start loading via HTTP, generating mixed content issues.
This led to many errors in Search Console, mobile pages loading issues and an overall drop in search results in just one week, which is very annoying after months of work.
I know for sure that the issue is created by HB because if I uninstall it, then everything comes back working fine.
I’ve already tried to do a search&replace for http://mydomain.tld to https://etcetera, but it doesn’t affect the behaviour.
I’m using latest WP, latest Woocommerce, latest Store Locator, YOAST, plus few others plugins. The issue is mostly related to Woocommerce & WPSL scripts.
It’s always the same: Install HB, Configurare script loading, everything’s fine. Wait 1-2 hrs -> mixed content.
I’ve currently moved to other plugins (I’m having a look at Automattic’s super cache) because I cannot afford to wait and loose other positions in search engines.
