Hi @laura9191,
Sorry to hear about the issue noticed. It seems like the plugin is currently deactivated, so I couldn’t see how the website loads with Hummingbird enabled.
Sounds like the issue might be related to Asset Optimization. To confirm, could you please go to Hummingbird > AssetOptimization > Settings and click the deactivate button and check whether you could replicate the same issue again?
The above action would deactivate Asset Optimization to help rule out whether the issue is due to Asset Optimization or some other aspect.
If you can confirm the website loads fine with Asset Optimization disabled, could we know the current Asset Optimization settings you have enabled? I.e. whether you have “Automatic” or “Manual” mode enabled in Asset Optimization, and with “Automatic” mode, whether it’s “Speedy” or “Basic” enabled?
Does it make any difference if you try “Basic” or “Speedy” settings?
Please do let us know how that goes. Looking forward to your response.
Kind Regards,
Nithin
Hello,
Thanks for the quick answer.
I’ve done the testing, and I got the following results:
Assets disabled: the site works but it’s slow
Assets automatic speedy: the site works fast, but it stops working after a while
Assets automatic basic: the site works, but slow
Assets manual (nothing disabled): the site works, but the speed is not ideal
Assets manual (any asset disabled): the site works, but the speed is not ideal
I’m using this plugin with marketing students, so ideally I would like to use the option “automatic” and “speedy”.
At the moment the plugin is set to automatic speedy.
Edit: I also have an error in this site: the site works but the logo disappears
Thanks!

Hi @laura9191,
Edit: I also have an error in this site: the site works but the logo disappears
Thanks for getting back with your observation. I’m assuming the above also occurs when Automatic and speedy is enabled.
It sounds like a conflict is causing this behaviour when Automatic speedy is enabled. This can happen due to minification where the theme or any other existing plugins doesn’t render the minification changes done in Asset Optimization.
This entirely depends upon your theme on how it renders the assets. Could you please try switching to “Manual” mode and then whether tweaking the files further as mentioned in the doc would help resolve the issue noticed?
https://wpmudev.com/docs/wpmu-dev-plugins/hummingbird/#manual
I could notice an error with the touchSwipe file on your website ie jquery.touchSwipe.min.js after the website is minified.
So once you switch to “Manual” mode, please check whether disabling the existing settings like “Minify”, “Combine”, etc for the jquery.touchSwipe.min.js file makes any difference or not in “Manual” mode.
You might have to tweak the files further, so would recommend going through the above doc for “Manual” mode.
Please do let us know how that goes.
Kind Regards,
Nithin
