http with and without www

    Hello,

    We successfully installed WordPress for our company. It ran perfect 2 weeks ago, but sometimes we are having issues with our website.

    Sometime it just doesn’t connect to the wordpress by using http://www or http://. Whenever we use the IP address it just connects immediately. We tried everything we could’ve think of, but we haven’t solved this issue.

    We are using the latest wordpress version and are using CentOS (cPanel) we have access to WHM.

    Can someone help us? Thank you!

    Currently it accepts www. but not http://. As far as I can remember it always worked with both.

    You have to check with the hosting company if their DNS define a record for the “www.”
    This should be a rare thing nowadays.

    Thank you for the reply, but we’ve created an A record for our domain name already, we used the current IP of the server where our wordpress files are located. So this should be okay. Do you have any other ideas?

    Could you share the contents of your htaccess file ?

    Any apache particular errors in error log ?

    Could you post the link to your domain so that people more competent than me look at the records ?
