Support » Plugin: Facebook Social Stream » HTTP Response

  • Hey Daniel,

    I installed your plugin but it does not show up any facebook content on my site.
    I can see that there is something in the sourcecode, but still not post are visible.

    In WP Admin i get

    Extension service did not respond with valid HTTP response! Please try again later.

    So maybe that is the problem. Can you tell me how to solve this?

    Thank you and kind regards from NRW ๐Ÿ™‚

    maybe your server isn’t allowed to do HTTP requests due firewall rules.
    Do you have access via SSH and are able to run following request

    Cheers from Cologne ๐Ÿ˜‰

    Thanks for your quick reply!
    Cologne is near, I’m from Duisburg ๐Ÿ™‚

    I have no access via ssh, because it’s only a webhosting-contract with host europe. Any other solutions?

    I think your webhosting contract does not include outgoing http-connections.
    As described here curl, wget and outgoing-connections are only available for “premium” and “supreme” packages:

    Die folgenden Features sind ab unserem WebServer mรถglich:
    * Authentifizierung รผber Publickey-Verfahren
    * Wechsel des Benutzers
    * die Nutzung von curl und wget
    * ausgehende Verbindungen zu anderen Servern
    * Kommandozeilen Zugriff auf MySQL Datenbanken
    * GIT Versionsverwaltung

    Oh okay, but thank you anyway!! ๐Ÿ™‚

    no worries! ๐Ÿ˜‰

    Hey Daniel,
    I finally managed my host to enable curl but it still says in WP-ADMIN “Extension service did not respond with valid HTTP response! Please try again later.”. I implemented the plugin with [fb_social_stream] on my page but no posts are showing up.

    Do you have any solution?

    Thank you so much ๐Ÿ™‚

    Sorry, the extension-service is up and running. The plugin uses file_get_contents function to retrieve data from different APIs. Maybe there are some restrictions within your hosting contract
