  • Hello!
    I’m having some trouble in getting one of my pages to look right, I hope you might be able to help, and I’m sorry if this is the wrong forum.

    I’ve done an HTML table and for the life of me can’t get rid of the table borders. Both the overall table and the inset PayPal Order tables. Here is a link to the page:

    I tried putting <table border=”0″> in both tables, and it still won’t work. Here is the code for the top portion of the table:

    <table border=”0″>
    <th>Running Tees</th>
    <td><img class=”alignnone size-medium wp-image-163″ alt=”ezzere get chicking” src=”×241.jpg” width=”300″ height=”241″ />

    <form action=”” method=”post” target=”paypal”><input type=”hidden” name=”cmd” value=”_s-xclick” />Get Chicking Tee in BLACK – $30
    <input type=”hidden” name=”hosted_button_id” value=”MTD49S96ULV4W” />
    <table border=”0″>
    <td><input type=”hidden” name=”on0″ value=”Sizes” />Sizes</td>
    <td><select name=”os0″><option value=”Small”>Small</option><option value=”Medium”>Medium</option><option value=”Large”>Large</option></select></td>
    <input type=”image” alt=”PayPal – The safer, easier way to pay online!” name=”submit” src=”” />
    <img alt=”” src=”” width=”1″ height=”1″ border=”0″ />

    I would greatly appreciate any help on this!
    Thank you so much,

  • PS- I thought it might have something to do with the specific theme I have installed. For the I have the Twenty Ten theme, with the table border problems.

    For my other site, I have the same PayPal buttons but without the borders, same html code. That site has a Pilcrow theme.

    I don’t know if that helps at all, thanks!

    Yes, because many themes include styles for elements – in your case these:

    #content table {
        border: 1px solid #E7E7E7;
        margin: 0 -1px 24px 0;
        text-align: left;
        width: 100%;
    #content tr td {
        border-top: 1px solid #E7E7E7;
        padding: 6px 24px;

    Do note that you should not be making any changes to any theme files (i.e. .css or .php) as they will be overwritten when WP is updated. Instead you should be using a child theme or custom CSS plugin. Then add the above CSS to that and change the borders to zero.

    Oh my gosh, THANK YOU sooo much!! I can’t tell you how much I appreciate this, and for supplying the code…it’s all working and looking great!

    Thanks again,
    Cait 🙂
