• Hi,
I have a wp community organisation site running for over a year and now I want to add a business directory to it.
However I cannot find one I like and have built one in html and css.
Pages are called directory.html and directory.css.
Problem is they do not show up for me despite looking at forums and websites for many months now.
Can someone give me a simple answer to my problem which is create a directory page in wp and link to dorectory.html and style it with directory.css.
I do not need header, sidebar or footer just my pages to show.
where do I put pages and how to style them without style.css interfering.
    Thanks,
    Larry

Thank you for your prompt reply, however I have tried to create custom page and added my html to it and the unstyled page does appear but when I try to add directory.css to it (which i can only do through a plugin) it disrupts the style.css default css.
I am fairly new to all this and what I was looking for was a step by step method to do what I am trying to do. As I said in my first post I have already spent months trying to figure this out and am just about ready to give up.
    Thanks,
    Larry

Need you do this in WordPress? Why do you want to use WordPress for this (just curious)?

because I want to add the directory to my already existing wp site menu. I assume I have to create a custom page to do this but if I can link to my directory.html page and directory.css from my wp site nav bar then thats the way I will go but I do not have the knowledge to do this.
    Thanks,

Just to add to last post I have already created a custom full width 940px wide page for a photo gallery on my site and that was easy but that used page.php and style.css, my problem now seems to be more complex.
    Thanks,
    Larry

Can you give more context of how this .html file will be used?

Thanks for reply but I do not understand the question.
