• Is there some .htaccess file with Rewrite code like that of phpBB in order to keep scriptkiddings out?

The problem with scriptkiddings is that they rarely can hack your blog, forum, etc. but consume much bandwidth while trying to do so. I can waste GB’s in those idiots, you know.

  • Can you be more specific ?
What exactly are they doing that wastes gigabytes ?

My blog is not online yet, but I am customizing it for a future release.

My previous MovableType one didn’t waste Gigabytes, but it was based on Pearl. WordPress is based on PHP, and from my experience with Forums running on PHP (e.g. phpBB2), I perfectly know that some scriptkiddings probably will attack it either to destroy it or merely practice their skills. This useless activity consumes bandwidth. That’s why phpBB2 implements “optionally” a .htaccess to be deployed in the phpbb folder, which contains codes using mode_rewrite (you know, “Rewrite engine on…”) to keep out well-known threats and so on.

My question was if someone developed something like that, which is written in… Pearl, I think. As I didn’t know Pearl I was trying to find something similar to that code used in phpBB2.

phpBB and it’s variants are known for their insecurity.
    WordPress is not.

WordPress is WAY more secure than phpBB/2
