Hello @tvanzo
Thank you for reaching out to us!
Unfortunately, there is no option to remove the theme of the popup. However, what you can do is create a new popup theme with no style and set all the opacity to zero. Please see our documentation on how to create a new popup theme: Popup Theme Editor — Introduction
Apply the theme to the popup settings. Please see this sample: https://share.getcloudapp.com/9Zux45bj
Then set the size of the popup according to the size of your custom HTML.
Please see sample: https://share.getcloudapp.com/9Zux4wYO
For the close button, kindly use the Popup Close Button shortcode: https://share.getcloudapp.com/z8u6Byyw
Then assign the HTML tag you have used for the custom HTML close button and CSS class.

You will also need to use the Forced Interaction extension plugin to have an option to disable the close button of popup – https://share.getcloudapp.com/z8u6BNnB
You may also need to update your custom CSS to get the popup to display properly with the custom HTML. I tested it on my test site and it worked.
Please see: https://share.getcloudapp.com/xQubQGvd
I removed the min-height: 100vh; for the .wrapper custom CSS and added a z-index for .btn–close custom CSS. You may also need to style the .btn–close the same on your sample.
I hope that helps.
