How to use custom post types – best practice

    Hi!

    I’d like to have some “best practice” advices as of how to best approach the custom post type feature in WP.

    I will set-up a number of custom post types and corresponding taxonomy and tags. I have used the “Custom Post Types UI” plug-in to register my post types but I’m having difficulties in understand how to make those taxonomies and tags visible, say, in the “homepage” of my site.

    Furthermore my custom post types don’t show up in the archive. I can understand why it is so but I’d like to know how to best approach these things so I don’t end up doing stupid stuff that needs to be reworked. I guess all this is related to themes etc as well…
