How to translate “Custom Form + Custom CSS”?

    In “General Settings” I set “Custom Form + Custom CSS”. I’ve uploaded both files (“usp.css” and “submission-form.php”) to the new directory as advised. I made some changes to the php document and everything is working OK. The problem is translating a new document. You suggest GlotPress for translation, but as I note, the development of this plugin has stalled, so I opted for Loco translate. If I make a translation change, it only writes to the basic pre-loaded translation of the USP plugin. (1) Will my translation change be overwritten when the USP plugin is updated? (2) How do I translate both new documents (css & php) that I have transferred to a new location and modified?

    Glad to help:

    That is a good question. I only speak one language so I am unsure as to all the details about language translations and so forth. However I can say that the prescribed way to add a new translation is to either submit a .mo/.po file, or use the online translation stuff @ https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/wp-plugins/user-submitted-posts/

    I’m not sure. Normally though CSS files do not need any translation. And for the PHP/custom USP Form file, that should be translated automatically by WordPress based on your site’s language settings (under General settings). Again, I am not too familiar with all the many workings and nuances of translating stuff. I guess if all else fails you can simply translate the form directly via the custom PHP file.

    Using the LOCO translate plugin, I was unable to translate “Custom Form”. In the end, I wrote all the strings in php in my own language, since the entire site will be made in one language only.

    However, I noticed that the text “This value is required.” is not in the USP.POT file, so it is not translated. I suggest adding it in the next version.
