How to remove BR tag from shortcode output

My theme is adding a BR tag in the output of the mailpoet_archive shortcode, making the rendered output not very elegant.

How can I either strip that BR tag out of the output or prevent it from being added (presumably by wpautop)? Has anyone crafted some custom code for the functions.php file that simply combine the send date and the subject into a single line, thus avoiding the addition of the BR tag?
