how to register users?

    Hi, when saying that users need to register, does that mean they have to have a WP account?
    Is it possible to allow users to choose a favorite bookmark if they “subscribe” with their email? Or is it possible to create a custom database or something?

    Also, when the message displays “you have to be registered”, is there a way to put a link to direct users how to register?
