• Hello

I was wondering how to migrate any website to WordPress? Is it possible to do with out redesigning the whole website? Any suggestion?

    Thank you in advance!

What are you migrating from? Blogger, Tumblr, a static HTML site?

Ah, where did you mention that earlier? I don’t see any other threads under your forum profile, but it might provide some helpful context. 🙂

Both can be done, by searching the Plugins Directory for “Joomla,” I found http://wordpress.org/plugins/cms2cms-joomla-to-wp-migration/ and http://wordpress.org/plugins/fg-joomla-to-wordpress/ for moving the content. Content from an HTML site can of course be copied and pasted.

If you want the WordPress sites to look exactly like the originals, that’s where it gets to be difficult. WordPress has its own theme structure, and while some Joomla themes have been converted to WordPress themes, you’ll likely need to hire someone to do the conversion or do it yourself.

Migration with the automated plugins can only achieve limited results. The ‘right’ way really depends on your migration goals:

    1. Do you want to retain the look and feel of the existing site?
    2. How about preserving the SEO assets – do you want to transfer existing SEO work to the new WordPress site?
    3. How about transfer of complete functionality.

If you need above three, developer intervention will be required.
