How to make thumbnails squares?

I was using Hueman for some time now, and somehow all my thumbnails were squares.
But after one very unfortunate overuse of deleting privilleges both, main theme and my child were gone.
So I installed Hueman back and got child back from backup… but it’s not working anymore with squares.

Is that possibility gone forever or I became dumber and can’t make them squares anymore? Every new post since that disaster is rectangular.
