How to make Front Page single column

How can I make my Front Page a single column rather than a two column page? I am unable to find a place where I can do that. I am using Chameleon theme.

Also, three items labeled “Home” appear on the third line right hand side at the top of the page and another item “home” at the left side. How can I delete two of these on the right side since one of them shows no content when clicked and the other is a duplicate of the Front Page.

Why does the item “Home” appear on the left side almost greyed out and how can it be deleted?
