How to make any page static
-
I added up new page and looks like it was added as a blog, not static. It is not home page. I set up home page as static and blog page as blog. How can I change blog to static for any other page, but home one. Thanks,

I do not understand exactly what you want to do, but maybe this will help…
http://codex.wordpress.org/Creating_a_Static_Front_PageI have 7 pages, 6 of them were included into Artisteer theme and uploaded into wordpress. 7th one I added using “add new page” option in wordpress. I set up home page as static, and blog page as a blog. All those from the theme are static. The one added up in wordpress looks like a blog page – I put plain text overthere , nothing else and when I look at website I can see Leave a replay as it can be on blog page. Well, you can have a look at zoetryvacations.com. It is still in th work, but i tryed to put just a plain text on Riviera Maya page – came with artisteer theme – looks like static. Difference between these two – on came with a theme and another one was added on wordpress. I need all the pages static, except blog
Like leejosepho I am having trouble understanding what u r trying to say.
It is important for me to understand before I can help you.
But maybe you could rewrite based on the following terminology:
1)
WP has only 2 default post types = one is called a “post” and the other is called a “page”
2) The term “static” is not a WP term. So please remove this from your description.
So when you say
I set up home page as static, and blog page as a blog.
This is very confusing.
In WP you set up a page as the home page in Settings > Reading.
There is no way to setup the home page as static.
You also set another page to contain all your posts.
To say “blog page as a blog” is not very clear.
OK, then I need to replace static with page and blog with post. Funny, but all over the web those pages called static and blog for wordpress, but all that info only about setting up home and blog, nothing about other pages. Thanks,
Ok, so is the issue that you have added a page but it is not showing up on the website?
Pardon, my French – looks like I can not explain what I need.
You can look at my website – zoetryvacations.com.
I have 6 pages in the main menu – all of them are pages, except blog. It is still under construction, so – not a lot of info there. Contact form on CONTACT page is plugin. You can look at RIVIERA MAYA page – and it does look as a page. ALl these came with the theme. If you go to VMenu on the right – you can see Privacy Policy – this page was added with wordpress. I wrote a text on this page and published it. When looking at website after publishing, I can see that Privacy Policy is a post, not page, as it should be.
So, I need help to convert it to page.Ok, I took a look at your site and see what you mean.
I think you are saying that the Privacy policy is a post because people can leave comments, nect pas?
Well I know this is probably already what you did , but did you go to Pages > Add new or did you go to Posts > Add new in WordPress what you created the Privacy plicy?
Your Privacy Page is a page (not a post) – at least according to the output HTML in the body tag – which shows this:
<body class="page page-id-247 page-template-default">It’s not possible to turn a post into a page anyway. So just make a new page if you are not happy with it.
You can try turning comments off under the page – look under Quick Edit – and turn off comments.
Yes it is a page because you will note that your posts start with, for example:
Conse ctetur
Published October 3, 2013 | By adminand your Privacy page does not start with
Published October 3, 2013 | By adminOnly posts will display the date they are published.
And it does help – thanks a lot.
Yes it gets confusing because both posts and pages can have comments……
Thanks, wpfan100, it was really confusing for me. But with your help – I am getting forward, step by step. Thanks
De rien π
