    Hello,

I renamed my login page using this plugin, but I can still access the wp-admin page. How do I hide or change aprilharridlaw.com/wp-admin so that people do not know I am using WordPress? My login page is aprilharridlaw.com/client-login. I would like the wp-admin page to display a 404 error.

Is this possible with your plugin?

I ended up using another plugin that changes the wp-admin slug to my 404 error page. It would be nice if this plugin could do this too so I don’t have to download three different security plugins in order to stop hackers from easily finding out I use wordpress.

Can you please clarify a bit more? When you say you can still access the wp-admin page is the plugin actually letting you through so you can log in, OR, are you seeing the error message displayed by the AIOWPS?

If it’s the latter, then your security is not being compromised at all because people cannot actually locate your login page due the fact that you have renamed it. So I’m not sure why you have felt the need to install another plugin.

I understand what you’re saying about the 404 page thing but that still won’t stop people from knowing that you have a WP site, ie, it takes a matter of seconds to look at your page source and learn that you’re using WP as the platform.
Having said that, we will look into maybe adding a 404 page instead of the default error for any direct access of the “wp-admin”.

    Hello,

    Please let me clarify:

When I went to /wp-admin, I got an error message that said “Please log in to your WordPress Admin Panel”

I don’t want to blatantly tell people I use WordPress. So yes, no one could log in to my admin panel from that page since I changed the login page with your plugin. I guess it’s really a false sense of security having the 404 page displayed since anyone can just look at my page source. However, I have disabled the right click functionality on my website… but I don’t know if that’s enough. I don’t know how to view my page source in Chrome without right clicking and choosing the option to view the page source. But I am new to WordPress…

So if your plugin adds the 404 page option, that would be great. I still prefer that over an error page that has the word “WordPress” on it.

    Thanks!

It took me about 3 seconds to view your source and determine that you are using wordpress. So in summary your concerns are a bit unjustified regarding the type of message we are displaying.

Having said that we will look into maybe adding a 404 option in future.

I forgot to say that you should change your login URL name ASAP because you appear to have advertised it for everyone to see.

Ok Thank you. I have already done that.

    Hi guys.
I liked you plugin very much and recently installed it on my site.
I have the same request as adharrid.
Please replace this wording “Please log in to access the WordPress admin area.” with something more secure.
I.E. “Page not found” or just redirect user to main page.
Hope to get your update with those changes soon.

P.S. I also can help you with full russian translation if I get proper file. Unfortunately I could not modify Russian po file in plugin because of some errors on it.
