Hey guys,
I’m working on a new website and i got this idea to put two blocks next to each other. I will make these blocks as the news items. I made a quick Paint painting to show what i mean:

Learning about CSS as suggested in the above reply, is a very useful thing, to tackle things like this.
Another option may be to look at the available themes and see which mix of content[type] and layout matches your needs best.
Install this theme, create a childtheme and edit the theme to shape your site some more.
