Support » Plugin: W3 Total Cache » How to enable Disk Enhanced mode? [W3 Total Cache]

  • I’m running W3 Total Cache on my shared hosting account (stablehost.com) and it’s doing a terrific job. I’m using CSS minification, page caching, database caching, object caching, and Rackspace Cloud Files CDN.

The only disk caching option available to me is regular “Disk (Basic),” not “Disk Enhanced.” Everything else is grayed out.

From what I can tell, the “Enhanced” mode is supposed to be significantly faster, so I’d like to try it!

How can I enable Disk Enhanced mode? Do I need to add anything to my .htaccess file? Have my hosting company change settings? (I have searched and searched, but haven’t found instructions anywhere…)

My compatibility check report is below.

    Thanks so much!

Thanks in advance for any good hint 😉

Do we need to be running Apache? I’m on Litespeed and geplguru is on Microsoft IIS… Is that the problem?

    Thanks,
    Andrew

Same error with me. When I used apache, disk enhanced is enabled, but now I changed the server and it uses litespeed server. Now my page cache only enable disk basic.

I thing using litespeed the W3 Total Cache don’t use .htacess

Is this true, as I’m missing the option as well.

Yep, W3 Total Cache won’t work with Litespeed.

    For the moment.

    Hi guys,

I’m getting the same issue with Disk Enhanced being disabled, using IIS 7.5 on Windows Server 2008. Am I doing something wrong or is W3 Total Cache not configured for enhanced with IIS?

    Thanks,
    Sam

Disk enhanced is not compatible with iIS.
