Until today, I was able to click Edit tag and the description box had all the buttons and functions of the visual editor, including an add media button. Something changed, I’m not sure what, and now it’s a basic box with limited html capability. (I can add italics, but no images or headings.)

How can I get the visual editor back for editing tags?

Here’s an example of one I did last month with the visual editor:

Here’s one I’m trying to add a similar image to today:

Hi, @wordpress_port. WordPress core doesn’t include a visual editor for the tag description field, so maybe you were using a plugin (like Visual Term Description Editor) for this, and it’s been deactivated?

Hi @girlieworks. I don’t believe I was using a plugin. It’s possible I didn’t go to “Edit tag” to get to the screen I remember, but if that wasn’t it, where had I gone?

I was able to click Add media to add the shark week banner to that tag, that’s for sure. And I did it several other times with other tags. How could I have done that?

I must just be forgetting the steps that got me there. Thanks.

@wordpress_port, I’m not really sure where you’ve might have done that, but since it looks like you’re using a commercial theme, your best bet would probably be to check its documentation, or get in touch with its support to see if they might know.
