how to display static content AND recent posts

    Hello

    Probably a very straightforward question but i just installed wordpress on one of my domains, where i want it to show a lot of static content on front page, but still to show recent posts as usual.

    i am assuming there are a million ways to do this. but just tell me what you think is the best way

    i now tried a few basic themes come with wp by default and in widget area inserted a text box . but that text box doesnt display where i want. so

    1- how can i display that text where i want?

    2-or should i use a certain theme and or plugin? if so any suggestions? i don’t want to reinvent the wheel and i want that static content to look nice. i am sure this is done million times.

    It’s probably best if you use your own personal taste to pick a theme that you like first. Then once you’ve done that, someone will be able to tell you specifically how to do what you need done. Most any theme can handle it… some easier than others. But the process will certainly vary from theme to theme. So choose one and we’ll go from there.
