How to disable spam blocker

I am running buddypress but the buddypress forums told me to consult with wordpress for answers. updates on my site by members are being sent to a spam folder under ‘activity’ in the control panel. I do not want member’s posts to be labeled as spam. How do I disable this feature, and allow members to post freely?
