• I have had a website for 2 years and haven’t been able to do anything with it, since at the time I created it, I had no idea where my career was going. I wish to delete the site, since keeping it up would be a waste of £100-ish per year, but I know absolutely nothing about doing so. I’ve tried (after realizing where to do it) to log into my WordPress dashboard, but I can’t find any option to do so. I’ve looked in other topics on the forum and nothing has been clear or helpful to me. Does anyone know how to do this?

    What’s your website address?

Are you using wordpress.com? In which case you’re in the wrong support forum, see https://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/

If you installed WordPress on your own hosting, you’re in the correct support forum! You would delete all the site’s files, delete the database etc via your own host’s control panel. Sort of doing in reverse what you did in the first place to set it up.

It’s definitely not a wordpress blog, but as far as the hosting is concerned, the actual hosting is done by a different site, and I don’t seem to have any login information for them. My only remaining option is to get in touch with the designer who set up my website and get him to handle the deletion, so I won’t be able to do that out of working hours.

Without a login to your hosting account, there’s not much you can do yourself, so contacting the designer makes sense.

There’s also your domain name to consider, which you may or may not also be using for email and therefore might not want to lose. It may or may not be registered with the same company you use for hosting.

You could go to where the site is hosted there may be someone to contact in the footer….follow links etc..
