How to create a renewal form

    I’m using S2Member Pro along with PayPal Website Payments Pro.

    My site will sell 3 month memberships, non-recurring. However, I want to offer my members a way to extend their membership by another three months once their subscription has expired, or prior to expiration.

    Essentially I want a form that takes a payment, then extends the EOT by three months. I could just let the membership expire, then get them to buy another. However they would then have to deal with a new password etc.

    In other words, I’m need a renewal form.

    I’ve looked at the PayPal Pro Billing Modification form. However all it seems to do is enable membership level changes, not extension of memberships at the existing level.

    Any pointers?

    First, you need to go to PayPal Options -> Automatic EOT Behavior and set the last item, Fixed-Term Extensions (Auto-Extend)? to Yes

    Second, you need to be using a Buy Now form to sell the memberships, not a Subscription form.

    Then, for renewals, it should just be a matter of getting the user to complete the same form again, i.e. the regular form, not a modification form.

    The EOT Auto-Extend seems to be set to yes by default, so no problem there.

    I’m not clear however on what a “Buy Now” form is for S2 Member Pro. I’m looking to sell Level #1 memberships. Do I use a “PayPal Pro Form for Level #1 Access”?

    Or do I instead use a “PayPal Button for Level#1 Access”? However if I use the button, then I can’t take payments on site.

    You use the form you mentioned (you could use the button, but there’s no point if you have the Pro version) and then select the appropriate option in the dropdown box on the line Then, I want to charge:

    Make sure you choose an item from the list headed PayPal Pro (Buy Now)

    OK. Now I get it. I select the “PayPal Pro Buy Now” option from the “PayPal Pro Form for Level #1 Access”.

    Final question.

    I’m selling Level 1 memberships. Once they expire, the member will drop to Level 0. My plan is to use Simple Shortcode Conditionals on the Login Welcome page, so that the Level 0 member (i.e. recently expired) sees a renewal form, i.e. the “Buy Now” form mentioned above.

    They go to the form, they’re already logged in as an expired and now Level 0 member. Once they go through the “Buy Now” process, do they get issued a new password? It would be better to keep the old one, if possible.

    If they are already logged in, they shouldn’t get a new password.
